Season 20 Field Promotion Rules

Seson 20: Field Promotion Rules

Field Promotions

Taken from the ideas of Infantry, Mechanized, Raiding and Tank Aces the following rules cover how to promote your Company Commander after each completed game.

After each game played your Company Command team will gain a Field Promotion. You do not need to have won your game nor did your Company Command team need to have survived the game to earn the Field Promotion. If your selected company type allows you to use an Infantry team or a Tank team as a Company Commander, you must choose one type to use for the entire season.

Listed below is the specific promotion that your Company Command team earns after each game played. Note that the number refers to how many games that you played not the number of the game that you played.

Example: If you play the second mission of the season before you play the first mission then you would have no Field Promotions in the second mission but you would get to use your first Field Promotion in the first mission.

First Game

You Missed Me!
Your opponent must re-roll successful results to Destroy your Company Commander using the Warrior Casualties rule found on page 106.

Second Game

I’m in Command!
Your Company Commander’s Command Distance is increased by 2”/5cm. If he joins another platoon this does not increase the command distance of every team in the platoon but it does allow him to join platoons 2”/5cm further away than normal.

Third Game

Excellent Spotting
Your Company Commander does not suffer the normal +1 penalty to the score required to Range In for artillery. If your Company Commander has the Under Command rule then he gains the Eyes and Ears rule (see page 195).

Fourth Game

Fast Mover
If your Company Commander is an Infantry team then he can move at the double through Rough Going.

If your Company Commander is a Tank team then he gains Wide Tracks. If he already had Wide Tracks the he treats all Very Difficult Going as Difficult Going.

If your Company Commander is a passenger in a Transport team then he gains Wide Tracks. If he already had Wide Tracks the he treats all Very Difficult Going as Difficult Going. This rule only applies while the Company Commander is mounted in the transport.

None of the above rules negate the effects of River Crossings, Bocage Hedgerows or Fortified Obstacles.

Fifth Game

Crack Shot
Your Company Commander may re-roll one of his failed rolls to hit when shooting normally or in Defensive Fire. If your Company Commander is a Tiger Ace then this takes affect after using Every Shot Counts!.

Sixth Game

Unshakable
Your Company Commander may re-roll Company Morale Checks. If he could already do so then you subtract one from the die roll when taking Company Morale Checks only.

You will only be able to use Unshakable if you are in the playoffs.
