Point of Contact Miniatures

Point of Contact Miniatures

Point of Contact Miniatures makes a very small line of fine plastic vehicles that come pre-painted. They have blister packs of 5 Tigers in 3 different color schemes and 5 German Half Tracks also in 3 different color schemes. Same goes for their U.S. vehicles: 3 different color schemes of the same Shermans and U.S. half tracks.

So, if you want to add some Tigers to an existing force or run a Tiger company, this is a great option for you. Also, if you want to build a Soviet, U.S., or British Sherman force, you can do so with their Shermans and half tracks. You just need to add Battlefront infantry and support weapons.

As far as both the German and U.S. half tracks go, why not use these to build up your collection. Transports can get expensive and these are a nice alternative. The Tigers I bought were $34.99 but you can get them online for as little as $29.99. That is pretty nice versus the $60+ for buying Battlefront models, which come unpainted by the way. The Point of Contact models come out of the blister ready to play!

The top view reveals a lot of similarities between the Battlefront vehicle and the Point of Contact one. Can you guess which is which?

Side by side you can see that the Battlefront tank (right) stands a little taller. I've heard some say they make their vehicles taller to compensate for the infantry standing on bases.

From the rear you can really see the height difference. Other than that, I think the plastic PoC tank looks and feels just as good as the Battlefront one. Plus, the PoC tank doesn't feel like you have to handle it really carefully. Seems more durable.
